After playing out a 1-1 draw with Barcelona’s second string side in Copa del Rey, Celta Vigo will be looking to extend the good run of results when they face Real Madrid in La Liga.

Los Blancos managed to defeat Numancia in midweek, but they are still reeling from the 3-0 loss to Barcelona at Santiago Bernabeu.

This is proving to be a difficult season for Celta Vigo, who remain in the bottom half of the La Liga standings, although European positions are not too far away.

The Sky Blues could only muster 6 wins in first 17 fixtures, which is an under-par result for their standards after the club did well to establish themselves as a top table side.

Celta Vigo appear to be on the road to recovery at the moment, having first defeated Deportivo La Coruna on the road, and then earned a credible draw against Barcelona in Copa del Rey.

Granted, the Catalans were without their key men, but the Sky Blues still did well to come from a goal behind and keep the tie alive ahead of the return leg.

Head coach Unzue somewhat surprisingly fielded a very strong side in midweek, but Pablo Hernandez and Gustavo Cabral will be recalled.

Having proved his fitness against Barcelona, Danish midfielder Daniel Wass is expected to keep his place in the side.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Ruben Blanco – Hugo Mallo, Cabral, Sergi Gomez, Jonny – Wass, Lobotka, Hernandez – Aspas, M. Gomez, Sisto.

Midway through the league campaign and Real Madrid already appear to be out of the title chase, which is a shocking result for the Champions League holders.

Chances are that los Blancos will not give up just yet in spite of the 14-point gap behind arch rivals Barcelona, but they should probably be better off pursuing other competitions.

Real Madrid did well to beat Numancia in Copa del Rey few days ago, with Bale, Isco and Borja Mayoral getting on the scoresheet and they are now priced at 1.53 (8/15) to win at Balaidos.

Full-back Daniel Carvajal is suspended for the trip to Galicia, but there are no other worries for head coach Zinedine Zidane.

The French manager will be able to recall on the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Sergio Ramos and Marcelo.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-1-2): Navas – Nacho, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo – Modric, Casemiro, Kroos – Isco – Benzema, Ronaldo.
