Celta vs LevanteHaving held Athletic Bilbao to a 1-1 draw last time out, Celta Vigo aim to return to winning ways against Levante and remain in contention for European positions.

Les Granotes, on the other hand, slipped to the bottom three as they were hammered by Real Madrid at home, but they have reason for optimism having taken five points from last three away fixtures.

Celta Vigo have enjoyed a bright start to the season under new coach Eduardo Berizzo and they fully deserve the current league position.

Team’s impressive run of results came to an end as they were beaten at home by Villarreal, but the Sky Blues quickly returned to the right track.

Celta Vigo came from a goal behind to earn a 1-1 draw at San Mames, thus staying just four points behind fourth-placed Valencia.

And having won both home fixtures against bottom-table sides, the Sky Blues are rightly considered 1.45 (9/25) favourites to see off Levante.

Carles Planas, Gustavo Cabral and Michael Krohn-Dehli have missed training on Wednesday, but all three players are expected to start on Friday.

Fabian Orellana misses out through suspension, whilst Andreu Fontas, Augusto Fernandez and Borja Oubina are out injured.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Alvarez – Mallo, Cabral, Gomez, Planas – Krohn-Dehli, Radoja, Alex Lopez – Hernandez, Larrivey, Nolito.

Some largely disappointing performances have nominated Levante as one of the main candidates for the drop, and the team clearly face an uphill struggle this term.

Team’s home displays are a major cause for concern, given that les Granotes have lost all four matches at their Estadio Ciudad de Valencia this term.

What is more, they failed to score a single goal while conceding 14 in the process, so they will be glad to face Celta Vigo on the road.

Meanwhile, Levante did much better than expected on the travels, taking five points from matches against Malaga, Granada and Elche following the 3-0 loss to Athletic Bilbao.

But, considering that Celta Vigo are in great shape at the moment, the good away run looks likely to end at Balaidos.

New boss Lucas Alcaraz will be without David Navarro, Pedro Lopez, Tono, Rafael Martins and Loukas Vyntra through injury.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Marino – Ivan, Rodas, Juanfran, Karabelas – Camarasa, Diop – Ruben Garcia, Gavilan, Morales – Casadeus.
