Barcelona vs Sevilla preview

Sevilla vs BarcaIt will be interesting to see how Barcelona react to one of the biggest blows in club’s recent history, with in-form Sevilla looking to pour more misery on the Catalans.

This match may not be too important as far as La Liga title race is concerned, but the Catalans do need to return to winning ways ahead of fixtures that are set to define their season.

Next up for Tito Vilanova’s side will be Copa del Rey semi-final return leg against Real Madrid, then league El Clasico, home match against Deportivo and return leg against Milan.

This showed that the 2-0 Champions League defeat to Milan came at a very bad time, but the players have only themselves to blame after playing well below par at San Siro.

Barcelona should now be very motivated to get back to winning ways against Sevilla, with Ladbrokes paying 1.22 (2/9) on home win.

The hosts will give their best to record a resounding win ahead of the new El Clasico, so bear in mind they are 1.67 (2/3) at Stan James to score three or more.

David Villa has resumed full training and is expected to start against Sevilla, but the game comes too soon for Adriano Correia, who is struggling with a hamstring problem.

With a view to Tuesday’s Copa del Rey clash against Real Madrid, Jordi Roura looks set to rest a number of first team regulars.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Valdes – Alves, Pique, Mascherano, Alba – Thiago, Song, Iniesta – Villa, Messi, Sanchez.

Just few weeks back it looked as though this season would turn out to be a huge disappointment, but everything changed with the arrival of Unai Emery.

The former Valencia boss managed to shake up the squad and instill much needed confidence, with good results soon following.

Following a 2-1 defeat in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final clash against Atletico, Sevilla are now in a good position to reach the final, while their league campaign is also progressing nicely.

Three wins in last four matches saw los Rojiblancos close the gap behind European places to just five points, so no doubt they will have plenty of motives to try and avoid defeat at Camp Nou.

That may prove to be a very difficult task, but you should know Sevilla are 5.00 (4/1) with BetFred not to lose this match.

January signing Bryan Rabello misses out through a knee injury, but Hedwiges Maduro returns from suspension. Cicinho, Palop, Perotti, Campana and Trochowski are not yet ready to return.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Beto – Fazio, Botia, Spahic, Navarro – Medel, Maduro – Navas, Rakitic, Reyes – Negredo.
