Atletico Madrid vs BarcaWith Real Madrid dropping out of the title chase, the true La Liga final will see Barcelona and Atletico Madrid decide the league winner between themselves at Camp Nou.

The Catalans need any win to defend the league trophy, whereas any other result would see los Colchoneros win their first La Liga since 1996.

This season probably would not be considered a success even if Barcelona go on to win the league trophy, as the team have been on a major downtrend this term.

The Catalans were eliminated by the Madrid sides from the Champions League and Copa del Rey, while suffering a fair share of slip ups in the league campaign as well.

Barcelona are pretty fortunate to still be in the title chase in La Liga having failed to beat Getafe and Elche in their previous two fixtures, but they clearly face a tough task on the final day of the season.

Even if the Catalans would secure the league trophy with any win over Atletico Madrid, it may be important to point out that they have failed to win any of the four matches against los Colchoneros this term.

And with that in mind, I am not sure if there is value in odds of 1.87 (20/23) offered on home with at BetVictor.

If the Catalans are to emerge victorious they will need Leo Messi at his best, with the Argentine 1.90 (9/10) to score anytime.

Tata Martino faces a genuine selection headache seeing as how Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba and Neymar are all doubtful, whilst Victor Valdes and Jonathan Dos Santos are out injured.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Pinto – Alves, Pique, Mascherano, Alba – Xavi, Busquets, Iniesta – Sanchez, Messi, Fabregas.

This Atletico Madrid team will be remembered by the future generations regardless of what happens in the final two fixtures of the season, but winning the two finals would make Diego Simeone and his men impossible to forget.

Los Colchoneros have already achieved much more than anyone could hope for, but they remain fully focused on task at hand.

Atletico Madrid had a perfect opportunity to clinch the league title ahead of the clash at Camp Nou, but the pressure got to them as they could only muster a 1-1 draw against Malaga, with Adrian Lopez denied the winner by a stunning save from Willy Caballero.

And while they will be facing Real Madrid in the Champions League final, the league final will see los Colchoneros contest Barcelona for the coveted trophy.

Atletico Madrid only need to avoid defeat in order to cross the finish line first and they are 2.02 (51/50) to succeed in their quest.

Diego Simeone has received a major boost as star striker Diego Costa returned from a muscle injury, with the Spain international available at 7.50 (13/2) to score the first goal.

Diego Godin returns from suspension, while David Villa is expected to keep his place in the starting line-up and Tiago will be preferred to Mario Suarez.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Courtois – Juanfran, Miranda, Godin, Filipe Luis – Arda, Gabi, Tiago, Koke – Diego Costa, Villa.
