Barcelona vs Atletico MadridIt was a 1-1 draw with Barcelona on the final day of last season that saw Atletico lift their first La Liga trophy since 1996, but los Colchoneros will probably be forced to surrender the league title to the Catalans on Sunday.

Diego Simeone’s charges could help local rivals Real Madrid by winning at Vicente Calderon, but stopping red-hot Barca in their tracks will be no easy task.

Even if Atletico failed to mount a serious title challenge in La Liga, they can be quite satisfied with how this season has panned out.

Los Colchoneros were very close to reaching the Champions League semi-finals, while eliminating Real Madrid in Copa del Rey, even if they later crashed out to Barcelona.

But, the most important thing is that the team have all but secured another appearance in CL group stages, seeing as they head into the final two matches four points clear of fourth-placed Valencia.

Nevertheless, Atletico players will be very motivated to try and beat in-form Barcelona at their Vicente Calderon, with home win paying 5.00 (4/1).

The latest reports suggest that Fernando Torres will be preferred to Mario Mandzukic after scoring a goal in the 2-2 draw with Levante.

Meanwhile, Tiago Mendes misses out through suspension and will be replaced by Mario Suarez, while Diego Godin returns from a one-match ban.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Oblak – Juanfran, Godin, Gimenez, Siqueira – Turan, Gabi, Mario, Koke – Torres, Griezmann.

Barcelona are clearly enjoying one of the most successful campaigns in recent years and the treble of titles is now a realistic possibility.

The Catalans will contest Champions League and Copa del Rey finals in a couple of weeks, while they are closing in on another La Liga trophy.

Going into the final two fixtures four points clear of arch rivals Real Madrid, Barcelona clearly have an excellent opportunity to lift the La Liga title.

No doubt Luis Enrique’s charges will want to get the job done as early as this weekend and they have been made 1.80 (4/5) favourites to defeat Atletico Madrid.

The coach is sweating over the fitness of star striker Luis Suarez, who could be rested after suffering a hamstring problem.

Jeremy Mathieu returned into action at Alianz Arena, whilst Claudio Bravo will be recalled after Marc-Andre ter Stegen continued his Champions League run.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Bravo – Alves, Pique, Mascherano, Alba – Rakitic, Busquets, Iniesta – Pedro, Messi, Neymar.
