Valencia vs AthleticAthletic Bilbao will be hoping to return to winning ways after their impressive run ended with a 2-0 loss to Sevilla at the weekend.

That will be no easy task though given that Valencia are in very good form and desperate to hold on to a top 4 position.

Athletic Bilbao have shown a considerable improvement in the second part of the campaign and they still have time to turn the season into a huge success.

Los Leones continued the tradition of impressing in Copa del Rey by reaching the final, where they will be vying mighty Barcelona for the coveted trophy.

Meanwhile, Athletic recorded four straight La Liga wins to revive their Europa League hopes, and they now have a chance to close the gap behind seventh-placed Malaga to mere three points.

Los Leones missed one opportunity to improve their league position as they were beaten by Sevilla on Saturday, but they are available at 2.55 (14/9) to defeat Valencia at San Mames.

Coach Ernesto Valverde suffered a major blow as key midfielder Iker Muniain suffered a serious knee injury and he is now set to miss around seven months of action.

Meanwhile, Aymeric Laporte is also expected to miss out, whilst Ander Iturraspe is a major doubt through a hamstring problem.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Iraizoz – De Marcos, Etxeita, Gurpegui, Balenziaga – Rico, San Jose – Iraola, Benat, Williams – Aduriz.

Valencia have been enjoying one of the most successful league campaigns in recent years, but los Che cannot afford to relax just yet.

With their rivals for a top 4 finish Sevilla in red-hot form at the moment, the Mestalla outfit cannot exactly afford too many slip-ups between now and the end of the season.

The goalless draw with Villarreal saw their advantage over los Rojiblancos evaporate, although los Che can open up a three-point lead by winning at San Mames.

That is easier said than done considering that Athletic won last three home matches in La Liga, beating Real Madrid in the process.

Even so, having won three of their last four matches on the road, los Che look a good bet at odds of 3.00 (2/1) offered at Betfred.

The visitors will be without full-back Jose Luis Gaya, who has suffered a muscle injury, whilst Enzo Perez is not yet ready to return.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Alves – Barragan, Mustafi, Otamendi, Orban – Parejo, Fuego, Gomes – Feghouli, Alcacer, Piatti.
