Manchester City forward Nolito looks set to leave Etihad after what has been an underwhelming season in the Premier League.

Nolito joined Citizens in the summer of 2016 on a £13.8 million deal but only took part in 19 Premier League matches last season, during which he added four goals to his name.

Disappointed by lack of opportunities, Nolito is holding out for a move away from Etihad and it seems that Pep Guardiola will not be standing in his way.

The 30-year-old Spanish forward has been heavily linked with a return to La Liga and this week he was even spotted in an ice cream parlour in Seville, alongside Sevilla sporting director Oscar Arias.

Rojiblancos have opened negotiations with Nolito over the season-long loan deal, although his former club Celta are still hoping to resign the 30-year-old on a permanent deal this summer.

Nolito’s former teammate Iago Aspas has issued a call out to the Spanish forward in his interview with Radio Gallega.

“I would bring Nolito back because we played together in 2015-16 campaign and we had great results”, said Aspas.

In addition to Sevilla and Celta, a number of Spanish sides are also exploring the possibility of linking up with former Barcelona graduate.

Atletico Madrid and Real Betis are thought to be keen, but it is Sevilla who have emerged as the frontrunners for his signature.

Rojiblancos are willing to cover the full amount of Nolito’s €4 million salary to land him on a season-long loan.
