Juventus are reportedly keen to secure midfielder Sami Khedira down to a new contract despite interest from Paris Saint Germain.

According to Tuttosport, the French giants want to recruit the German as a short-term replacement for Adrien Rabiot, who is apparently provoking interest from the likes of Barcelona.

However, Thomas Tuchel’s men have a fight on their hands for the signature of the former Real Madrid midfielder. Despite having only one year left to run on his current deal in Turin, the club are open to offer him a one-year extension to remain at the Juventus Stadium.

Since his arrival in Italy, Khedira has established himself as a key member of the squad. After joining on a free transfer from Real Madrid, the 31-year-old has made 110 appearances, scoring 20 goals. The World Cup winner has enjoyed plenty of success, too, having lifted three consecutive Serie A titles, as well as three Coppa Italias.

He was also part of the team that reached the UEFA Champions League final in 2016/17. Khedira started the current season in the best possible way as he scored the opener in Juventus’ 3-2 victory against Chievo Verona.

The German is priced at 11/2 with bookmakers William Hill to open the scoring this weekend in Juventus’ clash with Lazio.
