Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino has returned training ahead of the Reds’ UEFA Champions League Final against Tottenham Hotspur.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have been training over in Marbella in preparation for their second European final in as many years, with the Brazilian forward joining the rest of the squad.

He has not quite yet returned to full training though and will be carefully managed before the game. Firmino has been missing for the past three matches with a muscle strain and has not played since the 3-0 first-leg loss to Barcelona at the Nou Camp.

Should he return in time for the final, Liverpool will be boosted by his excellent record in the Champions League since joining the club. In 39 appearances for the Reds in the competition, he has scored 16 goals an provided 13 assists.

Even if he is fit, it remains to be seen whether he will feature. Mo Salah and Sadio Mane have predictably been in fantastic form, whilst Divock Origi has deputised excellently by netting two in Liverpool’s stunning comeback against Barcelona.

Firmino can be backed at odds of 13/2 with Paddy Power to score the opening goal against Tottenham in the final at Atletico Madrid’s Estadio Wanda Metropolitano on 1st of June.
