Genoa President Enrico Preziosi has suggested that AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek could bag 35 goals by the end of the 2018/19 campaign.

The Polish forward joined Milan in January after netting 19 goals during the first-half of the season at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. He has enjoyed a similarly fast start since his approximate £30m move to the San Siro, netting seven goals in only six games in all competitions. His record throughout the whole campaign now sits at 26 strikes in only 27 appearances.

Preziosi has backed Piatek to extend his purple patch until the end of the campaign. He said: “It doesn’t surprise me that Piatek is scoring so much.

“For me he’ll reach 35 goals. I expect him to do that, otherwise I wouldn’t have sold him for so much.

“I understand the Genoa fans aren’t happy about the deal, but we had to do it. I wish him all the success he deserves.”

The 23-year-old has another chance to get on the scoresheet on Tuesday evening as Milan travel to face off with Lazio in the first-leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final. Piatek can be backed at 4/1 with Paddy Power to score the first goal of the game at the Stadio Olimpico
