Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint Germain have reportedly lodged a bid for Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye.

According to French publication L’Equipe, Thomas Tuchel is interested in the Senegalese midfielder and has entered into negotiations with the Toffees over his signature. A potential fee of £22m has been touted, however there are suggestions that that offer is lower than Everton’s asking price.

Gueye, 29, has been at Goodison since making a switch from Aston Villa in August 2016. He arrived for approximately £7m from Villa Park and has gone on to become a key player, making 94 appearances in all competitions and scoring four goals. He has only missed three Premier League games so far this season as Everton sit 11th in the table under Marco Silva.

Should he make the switch to the French capital, he would then have the opportunity to add to his prior Ligue 1 title won with LOSC Lille back during the 2010/11 season. However, there were also further reports that the reigning champions were interested in swooping for alternative midfielders such as Watford Abdoulaye Doucoure and Leandro Paredes of Zenit St Petersburg.

Doucoure can be backed at 4/1 with BetVictor to make the switch from Vicarage Road to any French club before the closure of the January transfer window.
