Chelsea’s mercurial midfielder N’Golo Kante is reportedly a doubt for the Blues’ upcoming UEFA Europa League final.

Maurizio Sarri’s troops take on Premier League rivals Arsenal at the Baku Olympic Stadium on Wednesday. However, they will have to do it without Frenchman Kante who injured his knee in training ahead of the match. He is set to be assessed by the Blues’ medical staff but early indications are not promising according to The Guardian.

It is the latest setback for the two-time Premier League winner after being ruled out for the past few matches with a knee injury. It was hoped that he had recovered in time for the final but the knock in training appears to have dealt Chelsea a significant blow.

Kante’s departure is the latest in a long line of injury setbacks for Sarri and his troops ahead of their meeting with the Gunners. Defender Antonio Rudiger has already been missing since getting injured against Manchester United. Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek also both ruptured their achilles tendons and are not available for selection.

Despite the Blues’ injury problems, they are still the favourites to be victorious in Baku. The West-Londoners can be backed at a price of 4/6 with Paddy Power, whilst Arsenal are available at 6/5.
