Brazil giants Gremio and Russian outfit Spartak Moscow are thought to be edging closer to an agreement regarding the summer transfer of forward Luan.

The two sides are believed to have already reached an agreement over a €20 million transfer fee with only a couple of details left to be agreed upon before a deal is made official, according to reports from Globo Esporte.

Spartak Moscow will pay the initial batch in excess of €14 million to Gremio straight away, whereas the remaining sum is expected to be split up between three separate partners who hold 30% of the economic rights on the player.

The 24-year-old forward has enjoyed a successful spell with Gremio this season, bagging 14 goals already. His fine performances for the Brazilian club have alarmed plenty of European clubs including Premier League giants Liverpool.

The Reds failed to make an approach for the in-form versatile striker who is comfortable in front of goal and boasts plenty of athletic ability. Such a profile makes Luan a great fit for Jurgen Klopp’s high-intensity game style.

Described as an elite talent, Luan would have been a good addition to the Anfield-based club but he is now edging closer on a Spartak Moscow move which is expected to be finalized in the coming days.

In the meantime, Liverpool are preparing to kick off the new Premier League campaign this weekend. The Reds are travelling to Vicarage Road to face Watford on Saturday and can be found at 1.57 (4.7) price to secure first three points in the 2017/18 season.
