Jurgen Klopp is making big plans for the summer transfer window as he looks to tweak his Liverpool squad in a number of positions he finds deficient.

The German boss has identified a number of targets with the name of his countryman Julian Brandt emerging as the latest addition to the transfer wish list which also includes Leicester City starlet Demaray Grey.

The 20-year-old winger has emerged as one of the brightest talents in German football and his fine performances for Bayer Leverkusen have alarmed some of Europe’s biggest clubs, who are ready to join Reds in the race for Brandt’s signature.

According to Daily Mail, one of the most prominent names to join the chase is Real Madrid.

Los Blancos sent scouts to watch the youngster in action for Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday night against Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Last-16 tie.

The Spanish giants will have been impressed with Brandt’s display, with the winger putting in a strong performance on the ball, posing a big threat to Atletico Madrid’s defence line throughout the match. The 20-year-old, however, was unable to help his team avoid losing to Spanish rivals 4-2.

Atletico Madrid head into the second leg as huge favourites to claim a win and can already be found at 1.57 (4/7) @Bet365 even though a rematch is to be played three weeks away from now.

Julian Brandt has featured in 21 Bundesliga matches thus far in the season, helping his team with two goals in the competition, whereas he also made seven more appearances in the UEFA Champions League.
