FIorentina vs RomaHigh-flying Sassuolo will be looking to keep their European hopes alive when they take on revived AS Roma, who finally ended the barren run by defeating Frosinone.

Sassuolo have enjoyed some great times since they gained promotion to the elite division a couple of years back and their uptrend continues.

The Neroverdi have been quite impressive in the current Serie A campaign, climbing to seventh in the league standings, leaving quite a few top sides to trail in their wake.

Eusebio Di Francesco’s men did suffer a dip in form over the last few weeks, taking mere two points from last four league fixtures, so this is probably not the best time to be facing AS Roma.

Sassuolo have also failed to win any of their last five fixtures on home soil, which is another reason for concern ahead of the clash with the Giallorossi.

Paolo Cannavaro and Federico Peluso are back to the side, but Emanuele Terranova and Simone Missiroli continue to miss out.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Consigli – Vrsaljko, Cannavaro, Acerbi, Peluso – Pellegrini, Magnanelli, Duncan – Berardi, Falcinelli, Sansone.

After coming close to challenging for the Serie A trophy last term only to fall short in the end, AS Roma have been unable to keep up with the leading pack this season.

Rudi Garcia eventually paid the price for the disappointing results, with Luciano Spalletti arriving for a second spell at Stadio Olimpico.

The new boss didn’t have such a good start as the Giallorossi could only share spoils with Hellas Verona before losing to Juventus, but they have since managed to show some improvement.

Inspired by January recruit Stephan El Shaarawy, Roma recorded a 3-1 triumph over Frosinone to close the gap behind Champions League positions to mere four points.

This should give the Giallorossi an extra incentive to try and defeat Sassuolo, with away win available at 2.30 (13/10).

The visitors will have to make do without Kostas Manolas (suspension), Lucas Digne, Iago Falque, Vasilis Torosidis, Kevin Strootman and Ezequiel Ponce (all injury), whilst Alessandro Florenzi is rated doubtful.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-2): Szczesny – Rudiger, De Rossi, Zukanovic – Maicon, Pjanic, Keita, Nainggolan, El Shaarawy – Salah, Dzeko.
