Samp vs MilanLast-gasp defeat to AS Roma ended Sampdoria’s impressive start to the season, but they, nonetheless, sit three points clear of their next opponents.

AC Milan are desperate to make amends for back to back defeats to Napoli and Udinese, but the Rossoneri will not have an easy job at Marassi.

Following the impressive 2014/2015 campaign, Sampdoria experienced plenty of problems last term, finishing mere two points above relegation positions.

The Blucerchiati have since seriously changed their playing squad, adding Fabio Quagliarella, Leandro Castan, Dennis Praet and Bruno Fernandes, among others, while also seeing quite a few first team players leave.

Sampdoria in turn enjoyed a bright start to the season, winning their first two league fixtures against Empoli and Atalanta, while also getting past Bassano Virtus in Coppa Italia.

The Blucerchiati also fared well in the away fixture against Roma, coming from a goal behind to take a 2-1 lead, but eventually had to settle for a 3-2 loss as evergreen Francesco Totti scored the winner with the last kick of the game.

Sampdoria will now attempt to return to winning ways, and coach Marco Giampaolo is set to make some changes to the side.

Former Inter Milan star Ricky Alvarez misses out through suspension, with summer recruit Dennis Praet expected to replace him.

Carlos Carbonero and Andrea Tozzo miss out through injury, while Daniel Pavlovic should be preferred to Dodo on the left flank.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-1-2): Viviano – Sala, Silvestre, Regini, Pavlovic – Barreto, Torrieira, Linnety – Praet – Muriel, Quagliarella.

AC Milan cannot seem to catch and break and return to old glory days, with fans hoping the new owners will finally get the club back where it belong.

Due to uncertainty surrounding the club ownership, the Rossoneri were unable to properly strengthen the squad in the summer, and the results are already evident.

AC Milan were quite fortunate to win their opening fixture against Torino as Andrea Belotti missed a last-gasp penalty, but things would soon get worse.

The Rossoneri went on to suffer defeats to Napoli and Udinese, slipping to 15th in the overall standings, and they will have to show some sort of improvement soon.

AC Milan are available at 2.50 (3/2) to win at Marassi, but that is clearly easier said than done, despite the fact that they won on their previous visit to said venue.

M’Baye Niang returns to the starting line-up, while Jose Sosa will deputise for the suspended Juraj Kucka and Mati Fernandez, Alberto Bertolacci and Cristian Zapata are out injured.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Donnarumma – Abate, Paletta, Romagnolli, De Sciglio – Sosa, Montolivo, Bonaventura – Suso, Bacca, Niang.
