Lazio vs RomaFor the first time in quite a while the fierce rivals enter Derby della Capitale adjacent in the league standings, even if Roma sit nine points clear at the moment.

But, with the Giallorossi finally closing the gap behind title rivals Juventus and Lazio eager to remain in the top 3, we should see a great game of football at Stadio Olimpico.

Midway through the league campaign, Roma sit mere one point behind the top of the standings, and no doubt Rudi Garcia is satisfied that his team still has a decent chance of lifting the Serie A trophy.

The Giallorossi failed to progress from their Champions League group, but will continue their campaign in Europa League, although the league championship clearly has the priority at the moment.

Even if Roma failed to win their previous home game against AC Milan, back to back away wins over Genoa and Udinese saw them climb to within one point of leaders Juventus.

And with Rudi Garcia’s charges now very motivated to continue the good run, you should know they can be backed at 2.15 (23/20) to defeat Lazio on Sunday.

The boss is sweating over the fitness of Adem Ljajic and Jose Holebas, but Douglas Maicon should be fit to start.

Meanwhile, Gervinho, Seydou Keita, Leandro Castan, Salih Ucan and Federico Balzaretti are all unavailable for selection.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): De Sanctis – Maicon, Astori, Manolas, Holebas – Pjanic, De Rossi, Nainggolan – Florenzi, Totti, Iturbe.

Lazio management did really well to reinforce the squad over the summer, but with new boss Stefano Pioli also arriving, the team needed a while to hit the ground running.

The Biancocelesti have shown a great deal of improvement over the last month or so, taking ten points from four league fixtures to climb to third in the league standings.

Champions League qualification would definitely turn this season into a success, so bear in mind Lazio are 7.00 (6/1) to achieve a top 3 finish.

After squandering a two-goal lead to draw with Inter at Giuseppe Meazza, the Biancocelesti produced a very good performance to see off Sampdoria on Monday, with Felipe Anderson again playing a key role.

The Brazilian is quickly becoming an important player for Lazio, and with Antonio Candreva set to be recalled to the starting line-up, Roma defenders will have their work cut out for them.

Senad Lulic has been ruled out with a knee injury, while Lorik Cana should be fit to play and Gonzalez, Gentiletti, Ciani, Ederson and Braafheid are out injured.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Marchetti – Basta, de Vrij, Cana, Radu – Parolo, Biglia, Mauri – Candreva, Djordjevic, Anderson.
