Piotr Zielinski pens Napoli deal

ZielinskiPolish midfielder Piotr Zielinski has left Udinese to join Napoli, the Azzurri announced on their official website.

Napoli are believed to have paid €16 million for the attacking midfielder, who arrives at the club following a very successful loan stint with Empoli.

Liverpool and Milan were also in the race for the Poland international, but he ultimately decided to sign for the Stadio San Paolo outfit.

Zielinski is widely regarded as one of Serie A’s hottest prospects, and he is expected to act as back-up to Slovakian superstar Marek Hamsik at Napoli.

After struggling for playing time in the past few years, the midfielder impressed last season, scoring 5 goals in 35 Serie A starts for Empoli.

Having also recruited Arkadiusz Milik, Emanuele Giacchierini and Lorenzo Tonelli, the Azzurri will be hoping to challenge for the Serie A trophy, and they are now 9.00 (8/1) chance to go all the way.
