Parma vs FiorentinaEuropa League hopefuls Parma will be looking to extend their unbeaten run in the league to thirteen fixtures when they host Fiorentina on Monday.

Having suffered a real blow to their top 3 ambitions by losing at home to Inter, Viola have no choice but to try and return to the right track by winning at Ennio Tardini.

Parma have been showing steady progress ever since they returned to the elite division in 2006 and it was only a matter of time before they mount a serious challenge for European positions.

The long-awaited season seems to have finally arrived as I Ducali sit on the brink of Europa League places and they also have a game in hand.

And while Roberto Donadoni’s side performed well in the opening exchanges, they have been especially impressive over the last few months and last lost a league game to leaders Juventus on 2nd November.

Parma recovered well from the unexpected home draw against Catania having hammered very good Atalanta side on the road and they are 2.50 (3/2) to see off Fiorentina as well.

It may be important to note that I Ducali have kept three successive clean sheets, and they will certainly be aiming to continue the trend on Monday.

Afriyie Acquah misses out through suspension, whereas Jherson Vergara is injured and Felipe is doubtful with a sprained ankle.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-2): Mirante – Cassani, Paletta, Lucarelli – Biabiany, Parolo, Gargano, Marchionni, Molinaro – Cassano, Palladino.

Fiorentina have had their share of problems this season, with key players picking up injuries one after another, but Vincenzo Montella and his men are determined to make the most out of the current campaign.

Viola are one of the main candidates for the Europa League trophy and they are on the verge of making it to Last 16 stage having defeated Esbjerg away in the first leg.

Meanwhile, the team have experienced plenty of ups and downs in the league campaign, but they are still within a touching distance of the final Champions League berth.

It was last week’s home defeat to Inter that allowed Napoli to create a six-point advantage over the Artemio Franchi outfit, and with the Azzurri hot favourites to beat Genoa, Viola are aware they need to try and beat Parma in order to keep their Champions League hopes alive.

That will be no easy task given their opponents are on a 12-match unbeaten run, but Fiorentina can be backed at 3.20 (11/5).

Gonzalo Rodriguez, Juan Vargas and Juan Cuadrado have all resumed full training, but it remains to be seen if all of them will be risked at Ennio Tardini.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-1-1): Neto – Tomovic, Diakite, Savic – Cuadrado, Aquilani, Pizarro, Valero, Pasqual – Ilicic – Matri.
