Soccer: Serie A; Parma-LazioSerie A side Parma have been deducted one point for their failure to pay player wages, it has been revealed.

The Ennio Tardini outfit were banned from this year’s Europa League for similar financial issues and their survival chances in Serie A have suffered a new blow.

After being deducted one point from their tally, I Ducali sit at Serie A rock bottom, eight points clear of safety, and they are 1.60 (5/8) to get relegated.

Parma have informed the public they will appeal on the decision, but it is clear that the club’s financial problems continue to mount.

The club had earlier been fined for unpaid wages from November 2013, but they seem to have failed to get back on the right track.

Parma fans also fear that some star players will be leaving Ennio Tardini in January, with Antonio Cassano, Francesco Lodi and Jose Mauri being linked with a winter exit.
