Napoli vs FiorentinaNapoli suffered another major blow as they were eliminated from Coppa Italia and they desperately need to end the barren run against Fiorentina.

Viola experienced a similar feeling as they lost the second leg to Juventus 3-0 and they have got to win at Stadio San Paolo in order to keep their Champions League hopes alive.

It is not that difficult to understand why Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis has threatened to cancel the summer holidays for the players, with the Azzurri largely disappointing in the last month and a half.

Rafael Benitez’s charges quickly ruined their top 3 hopes in Serie A, and they have now been eliminated from Coppa Italia as well.

This means that Europa League campaign is their only way out this term, but they are probably dreading the prospect of facing in-form Wolfsburg in the quarter-finals.

A five-match winless run in the league saw Napoli slip to sixth in the overall standings, and they currently sit eight points behind third-placed Lazio.

It remains to be seen whether the president’s threats will have any effect on the squad, but the Azzurri are 2.05 (21/20) to defeat Fiorentina on Sunday.

Rafa Benitez is widely expected to ring changes to his starting line-up, with Lorenzo Insigne tipped to start after a great cameo role against Lazio.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Andujar – Maggio, Albiol, Koulibaly, Strinic – Lopez, Inler – Callejon, Hamsik, Insigne – Higuain.

After eliminating Roma in the previous round and winning the first leg of the Coppa Italia semis against Juventus, Fiorentina had a great chance to edge closer to winning the first major title in 14 years.

However, Viola suffered a 3-0 loss at home to their arch rivals and now need to try and get their season back on track.

Fiorentina will attempt to reach the final stages of the Europe League, where they are vying Dynamo Kiev for a place in the semi-finals, but Serie A campaign has the priority at the moment.

Sitting six points behind Champions League positions, Viola are still not without chances of finishing in top 3, and a win at Napoli could go a long way.

The impressive 7-4-4 away record can give Vincenzo Montella’s charges reason for optimism, with away win paying 4.10 (31/10).

The visitors will have Stefan Savic and Josip Ilicic back from injury and suspension respectively, whereas David Pizarro faces a fitness test.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Neto – Tomovic, Rodriguez, Savic, Pasqual – Fernandez, Badelj, Kurtic – Diamanti, Babacar, Salah.
