CandrevaItalian media outlet Sport Mediaset is reporting that Inter Milan are on the verge of signing Antonio Candreva from league rivals Lazio.

The Italy international was widely expected to move to Napoli after the Azzurri had a €24 million bid accepted, but the deal eventually fell through as the player was unable to agree personal terms.

Inter Milan have since moved to the front of the queue by offering €18 million plus another €2 in bonuses for the 29-year-old footballer.

And even though Napoli are now holding out for €25 million, the Nerazzurri have decided to match the asking price as they are desperate to make Candreva the first marquee signing of the summer.

The Italy international has been one of league’s star performers for several years now, and he managed a total of 45 goals and as many assists in 192 competitive matches for Lazio.

His prospective new club will be hoping to finally mount a serious title challenge in Serie A, and they are currently priced at 15.00 (14/1) to go all the way.
