Genoa vs MilanHigh-flying Genoa are on the verge of breaking into Serie A top 3 and that should be enough incentive for the hosts to give their best against AC Milan.

The Rossoneri climbed to sixth by defeating Udinese at home and they will want to further close the gap behind their rivals for Champions League positions.

Over the past few years, Genoa were usually involved in the difficult relegation tussle until the final few rounds of the league campaign, so you will admit it is strange to see them near the top of the standings.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s charges have been absolutely brilliant this season, taking 23 points from 13 fixtures to climb to fourth in the league standings, but it remains to be seen whether they can continue the rich vein of form for much longer.

Following the impressive 3-0 triumph over Cesena in the league, the Rossoblu were beaten by Empoli in Coppa Italia, although it is important to note that a host of first team regulars sat out that match.

Genoa will now be hoping to extend the brilliant run when they host AC Milan, with home win available at 3.20 (11/5) with Coral.

Experienced defender Nicolas Burdisso misses out through suspension, whilst youngster Rolando Mandragora is out injured.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Perin – Roncaglia, De Maio, Marchese, Antonelli – Edenilson, Sturaro, Berolacci – Perotti, Matri, Kucka.

AC Milan have showed a lot of promise under Pippo Inzaghi, but the Rossoneri have yet to prove they can mount a serious title challenge.

Few more quality players are expected to arrive in the January window, but the team still have another three games before the winter break.

Following back to back draws with Sampdoria and Inter Milan, the Rossoneri showed some improvement to defeat Udinese at home, with Jeremy Menez scoring a brace.

The Frenchman is again set to be deployed in a false nine role and he can be backed at 3.60 (13/5) to score against Genoa as well.

Meanwhile, AC Milan have yet to lose on the road this season (W2 D4) and having beaten Parma and Hellas Verona they are 2.55 (14/9) to win at Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Nigel de Jong should return to the side having recovered from injury, but Michael Essien is banned and Ignazio Abate, Alex, Mattia De Sciglio and Sulley Muntari remain sidelined.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Lopez – Rami, Bonera, Mexes, Armero – van Ginkel, de Jong, Bonaventura – Honda, Menez, El Shaarawy.
