The two teams have done so well in the opening exchanges, making this clash one of the most interesting matches in Gameweek 9 if Italian Serie A.

Heavy investment in the playing squad have immediately paid off for Fiorentina, after boss Vincenzo Montella successfully integrated no less than 18 new signings into his squad.

As a result, Viola picked up 12 points from first 8 games, and they would have probably put few more points on the board if they had had another in-form attacker to help Stevan Jovetic.

Even so, Fiorentina climbed to 6th place as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Chievo, and they can now even enter the race for a top 3 finish with a win over Lazio.

Taking into account team’s impressive showings at Artemio Franchi, odds of 2.25 (5/4) offered at Ladbrokes on home win do look tempting.

Boss Vincenzo Montella is without suspended David Pizarro and Facundo Roncaglia, while Alberto Aquilani and Christian Llama are both injury doubts.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-2): Viviano – Savic, Rodriguez, Tomovic – Cuadrado, Fernandez, Valero, Migliaccio, Pasqual – Toni, Jovetic.

Lazio continue to prove they are one of the most underestimated sides in European football, with the Biancocelesti climbing to third place in Serie A with relative ease.

With the squad almost completely deprived of star players, Lazio are rarely mentioned when people are talking about top Italian sides, but the team always do well to prove the doubters wrong.

Having missed out on a Champions League berth by mere two points last term, the Biancocelesti look ready to mount another serious top 3 challenge, with bet365 paying 4.00 (3/1) if they succeed in their quest.

Vladimir Petkovic’s side were unlucky not to extend their winning run to five games in all competitions as they conceded a late equalizer in the Europa League clash against Panathinaikos, but they are now 3.80 (14/5) with BetVictor to triumph at Artemio Franchi.

Miroslav Klose, Stefano Mauri and Senad Lulic are all felling the ill-effects of the hectic schedule and they are doubtful for this clash, while Stefan Radu, Modibo Diakite, Ederson and Federico Marchetti are definitely out.

Probable starting line-up (4-1-4-1): Bizzarri – Konko, Biava, Dias, Cavanda – Ledesma – Candreva, Gonzalez, Hernanes, Lulic – Klose.
