Italian newspaper Il Messaggero reports that Manchester City have reignited their interest in AS Roma star Daniele De Rossi.

The Citizens boss Roberto Mancini admitted his interest in the Italy international and attempted to sign him last summer and again in January.

Meanwhile, the highly rated midfielder has signed a new deal until June 2017 with AS Roma, but that didn’t stop Mancini from returning for the experienced midfielder.

According to Il Messaggero, Manchester City are now ready to offer around £23.5 million for De Rossi.

It appears there is some truth in the speculation as BetVictor has the Italian at 4/1 to join City in the summer transfer window, and 6/1 to join free-spending Juventus instead.

De Rossi is 10/1 and 12/1 to sign for Tottenham and Manchester United respectively. Bear in mind that loan moves also count.

The Italian midfielder is again in high demand following some impressive showings at the European Championship, and he could decide to leave Olimpico in a search of a new challenge.
