FIorentina vs RomaRelegation threatened Carpi are in all sorts of problems after losing last two league matches and this is probably not the right time to be facing revived AS Roma.

The Giallorossi won three straight fixtures to kick-start their top 3 bid and they will fancy their chances of winning in Emilia-Romagna.

Considering they operate on a very tight budget, Carpi were unable to sign high-quality players to boost their survival bid, meaning they had to look for bargain deals instead.

And while they did manage to recruit several footballers with top flight experience, it is now clear the team lack the quality needed to perform at this level.

The Biancorossi still have time to get their season back on track, but considering they currently sit five points behind safety, they clearly face an uphill task.

Back to back defeats to Fiorentina and Napoli further established them as one of main candidates for the drop, and it is highly unlikely they will show a considerable improvement when facing AS Roma.

There have been some good news for coach Fabrizio Castori as Riccardo Gagliolo and Lorenzo Lollo recovered from injury, but he still has some important missings.

Raffaele Bianco is banned for the Roma clash, whereas Igor Bubnjic, Fabrizio Poli, Lorenzo Pasciuti and Matteo Fedele are out injured.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-1-1): Belec – Zaccardo, Romagnoli, Gagliolo – Letizia, Porcari, Cofie, Crimi, Gaudio – Lollo – Mbakogu.

Even though club’s decision to sack Rudi Garcia was not easy, they appear to have acted in just the right time as new coach Luciano Spalletti has managed to wake up the team from winter slumber.

The promising display in the 1-0 defeat to Juventus was the first step in the right direction, whereas home win over Frosinone acted as another confidence boost.

And having since defeated Sassuolo and Sampdoria as well, Roma are now effectively back in the race for Champions League positions.

With both Fiorentina and Inter Milan struggling of late, the Giallorossi sit just two points behind top 3 positions and have been made 1.95 (19/20) favourites to make it four on the bounce.

Everybody at Stadio Olimpico was delighted to see Kevin Strootman resume training, but the Dutch midfielder is unlikely to face Carpi this weekend.

Daniele De Rossi is doubtful with a musle problem, while Ezequiel Ponce, Vasilis Torosidis and Norbert Gyomber are definitely out.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Szczesny – Florenzi, Rudiger, Manolas, Digne – Nainggolan, Keita, Pjanic – Perotti, Salah, El Shaarawy.
