Fabio Borini LiverpoolItalian striker Fabio Borini believes he still has future at Anfield after missing out on a summer move away from the club.

The Chelsea graduate had offers from both Sunderland and QPR, but he ultimately decided to turn them down and fight for his place at Liverpool.

He now faces a fierce competition for places in attack, but Borini believes he has what it takes to nail down a regular starting berth.

“I have committed to the club, and I want to earn a place in the side,” Borini told Daily Mirror.

“It is my aim to return to the team and to score goals for Liverpool. I know it will not be easy, it will be very challenging. But I am motivated.

“Yes, I heard some criticism, but I made the decision and it is my job to prove I can be worth a place. That’s what I aim to do now.

“I know that it is a real challenge now to find a space in the Liverpool side, because the competition here is so great, and there are many good players. But for me, that should be a motivation, not a problem.”

Liverpool resume Premier League action at home against Aston Villa, with the Reds 1.29 (2/7) to continue the winning run and stay close to the top of the standings.
