Buoyed by the impressive midweek triumph over Chievo, AC Milan will attempt to revive their title ambitions by defeating holders Juventus.

The Bianconeri, on the other hand, need to continue winning if they want to keep up with in-form Napoli, Inter Milan and Lazio.

Heavy investment in the playing squad have yet to pay off for AC Milan, who have struggled to keep up with the aforementioned four sides.

Ten games into the new campaign and the Rossoneri are already nine points behind Champions League positions, although they have finally put an end to a barren run of results.

Successive league defeats to Sampdoria, AS Roma and Inter Milan were followed by a goalless draw with Genoa, but AC Milan then managed to beat Chievo in midweek.

Four goals scored in Verona should serve as a major confidence boost ahead of the visit of Juventus, where the hosts will again be under pressure.

The former Juventus star Leonardo Bonucci, who has been heavily criticised for under-par showings of late, will not be able to face his former club as he serves a two-match suspension, but Lucas Biglia has returned into action.

Italy internationals Andrea Conti and Giacomo Bonaventura miss out through injury, while Nikola Kalinic should again be preferred to Andre Silva and Patrick Cutrone.

Probable starting line-up (3-4-2-1): Donnarumma – Musacchio, Romagnoli, Rodriguez – Borini, Kessie, Biglia, Calabria – Calhanoglu, Suso – Kalinic.

Reigning champions Juventus are finding it difficult to assert their dominance this season, as they’ve got three very serious title rivals at the moment.

Napoli and Inter Milan both sit in front of them in the standings, while Lazio are just a step behind, meaning that Max Allegri’s side cannot afford to relax.

Juventus have overcome a poor run that saw them suffer setbacks against Atalanta and Lazio, having recorded comfortable wins over Udinese and SPAL.

Having also defeated Sporting CP in the Champions League, the Bianconeri are now searching for fourth successive win on all fronts and they are 1.95 (19/20) to succeed in their quest.

Juventus will have Mario Mandzukic back after suspension, whereas Gianluigi Buffon and Giorgio Chiellini were rested in midweek.

Meanwhile, Blaise Matuidi, Mehdi Benatia, Stefano Sturaro, Benedikt Howedes and Marko Pjaca remain in the treatment room.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Buffon – Lichtsteiner, Barzagli, Chiellini, Alex Sandro – Pjanic, Khedira – Cuadrado, Dybala, Mandzukic – Higuain.
