Mario BalotelliItalian giants AC Milan were defeated by Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League Last 16 stage clash, but there were more bad news for the Rossoneri as Mario Balotelli and Mattia De Sciglio picked up injuries in the process.

Clarence Seedorf’s men produced a very good performance against in-form los Colchoneros but had to settle for a 1-0 defeat after twice hitting the woodwork before conceding a late goal.

Full-back Matia De Sciglio had to be replaced midway through the first period as he suffered an ankle problem, with additional tests set to be conducted on Thursday.

Nevertheless, the talented footballer looks set to miss the Sunday’s Serie A clash against Sampdoria, but he could return for the derby game against Juventus.

At the same time, Mario Balotelli suffered a shoulder injury and also had to leave the pitch, making way for Giampaolo Pazzini.

The extend of the injury remains to be seen, but the Italy international, too, looks a major doubt for the Sampdoria game.

Despite suffering a disappointing defeat, Milan players can take heart from their performance against Atletico Madrid, and the Rossoneri look a good bet at 2.40 (7/5) to see off Sampdoria on Sunday.
