Premier League return is on the cards for former Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu who does not feature in Ernesto Valverde’s first-team plans at Barcelona.

The 23-year-old Spanish international has managed only five La Liga starts this season and is likely to see his playing time limited even further with the arrival of former Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho.

Deulofeu only returned to Barcelona last summer in a €12 million transfer from Everton.

The winger spent the second part of the last season on loan at AC Milan and has most recently been linked with a Serie A return. Napoli were among the clubs linked to Deulofeu who is – as things stand at the moment – closest to the Premier League.

According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, Watford manager Javi Garcia has expressed interest in grabbing the former Everton man.

Watford look set to part ways with Troy Deeney who is a transfer target for West Bromwich Albion and Deulofeu is the one player seen as (in)direct replacement.

Mundo Deportivo does not indicate whether a move for Deulofeu would be temporary or a permanent one although the Camp Nou giants are said to be keen to sell and would be looking for around €20 million.

Watford are preparing to travel to Stoke City for the midweek Premier League challenge and can be backed at 5/2 to claim all three points.
