Wolfsburg vs DortmundWhile Wolfsburg secured an automatic Champions League berth with a 3-1 triumph over Paderborn, the Wolves will want to hold on to the second position by defeating Borussia Dortmund.

The Millionaires are on the verge of European positions after yet another impressive result, and they now plan to leapfrog Schalke or Augsburg with three points from Volkswagen Arena.

With Champions League qualification already in the bag, this season can be regarded a huge success for Wolfsburg, although it is not as if the Wolves have nothing left to play for.

Having spent the entire campaign just behind champions Bayern, Dieter Hecking’s men will be eager to achieve a second-place finish and nominate themselves for a serious title challenge next term.

Wolfsburg will also have a chance to win their second ever major trophy, seeing as they will face Borussia Dortmund in the DFB Pokal final on 30th May.

The Wolves will, therefore, be very motivated to win their final two league fixtures and head into the high-profile clash in great spirits, so bear in mind they are 2.60 (8/5) to win the dress rehearsal.

Coach Dieter Hecking is sweating over the fitness of left-backs Ricardo Rodriguez and Marcel Schafer, but one of them is expected to start.

Ivan Perisic (adductor) and Luiz Gustavo (knee) are also injury doubts, while Felipe Lopes remains a long-term casualty.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Benaglio – Trasch, Naldo, Knoche, Rodriguez – Guilavogui, Arnold – Caliguri, De Bruyne, Schurrle – Dost.

Not so long ago, Borussia Dortmund sat deep in the Bundesliga relegation zone, with survival the only thing on their minds, but Jurgen Klopp’s charges have successfully turned things around.

The Millionaires did brilliantly to pip Bayern Munich to a place in the DFB Pokal final, while also getting their league campaign back on track.

Ten points from last four fixtures saw Borussia climb to seventh in the league standings and they now sit just two points behind Europa League positions.

However, it is clear they need to continue the good run of results in order to secure European qualification, and Dortmund can be backed at 2.88 (17/9) to win in Wolfsburg.

Mitchell Langerak will keep his place in the side, but Sven Bender and Sebastian Kehl are slight injury doubts for the Wolves clash.

Marco Reus could take his place on the bench after recovering from injury, but Jakub Blaszczykowski, Kevin Grosskreutz, Adrian Ramos and Nuri Sahin are definitely out.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Langerak – Durm, Sokratis, Hummels, Schmelzer – Bender, Gundogan – Mkhitaryan, Kagawa, Kampl – Aubameyang.
