Montenegro vs Russia 0-0Fabio Capello’s Russia have been awarded a 3-0 win after the Euro 2016 qualifier against Montenegro was abandoned on 27th March.

UEFA ruled in favour of Russia and also ordered Montenegro to play their next home fixture in front of empty stands and pay a 50,000 euros fine.

The said match was initially suspended in the first minute after a flare hit Russia keeper Igor Akinfeev in the head, but the referee later allowed the match to carry on.

The game was finally abandoned midway through the second half following a missed penalty by Roman Shirokov as the fans continued throwing various objects on the pitch.

Russia had been in full control of the tie even before the match was called off, but they could not find an opening despite creating a host of clear-cut chances.

Following UEFA’s ruling, Russia have moved within one point of second-placed Sweden in Group G and are available at 1.33 (1/3) to finish in top two.
