High-flying Nice sit six points behind their next opponents ahead of the high-profile clash at Allianz Riviera, and they hold a slim hope of pipping PSG to a second-place finish.

Meanwhile, the Saints are still battling leaders Monaco for the Ligue 1 trophy and they clearly cannot afford any more setbacks.

Last season’s fourth-place finish was seen as a huge success for Nice, who hadn’t done too well in recent years, but little did we know that les Aiglons will surpass the feat this term.

Having been expertly guided by Lucien Favre, the Allianz Riviera outfit surprisingly managed to mount a serious title challenge, although it appears they will have to settle for third place in the end.

The 1-1 draw with Toulouse effectively ended the club’s title charge, but they still stand an outside chance of finishing as runners up.

For that to happen they need to win all the remaining games, including the one against reigning champions PSG that is scheduled for Sunday evening.

That is not going to be an easy task when we know that Nice have now conceded in six straight games, albeit also scoring in all those fixtures.

Head coach Lucien Favre welcomes back Mounir Obbadi to the side, but Wylan Cyprien and Alassane Plea are still sidelined.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Cardinale – Souquet, Le Marchand, Dante, Dalbert – Koziello, Seri – Pereira, Belhanda, Eysseric – Le Bihan.

Even though they are widely expected to end the campaign with two titles to their name, this season will probably be characterised as a failure at Parc des Princes.

PSG missed a glorious opportunity to reach the Champions League semi-finals, while they look set to miss out on the Ligue 1 trophy as well.

The Saints are currently level on points with leaders Monaco, who have a game in hand and are playing arguably the best football in Europe.

PSG, on the other hand, have been in fine form as well and they can be backed at 1.57 (4/7) to defeat Nice and make it 11 victories in a row.

As things stand now, Javier Pastore and Layvin Kurzawa will play no part having missed training on Friday, but Kevin Trapp will be recalled.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Trapp – Aurier, Thiago Silva, Marquinhos, Maxwell – Verratti, Motta, Matuidi – di Maria, Cavani, Draxler.
