Brazil forward Neymar has urged the Seleccao to build on the 3-0 friendly victory over France and try and win the Confederations Cup.
The national team have come under a lot of fire for some under-par showings of late, but they finally managed to record a morale-boosting victory in their final warm-up game.
Barcelona’s latest acquisition Neymar is adamant his teammates are paying no attention to the criticism in the media.
“We weren’t playing for the critics, we were playing for ourselves. We don’t care what others are saying, the most important thing is what you demonstrate on the pitch,” he told reporters after the match.
“We proved that we can win the competition.”
Neymar has been especially criticized for failing to score in his last seven matches for the national team, but it appears his starting berth is not in danger.
