Denmark coach Morten Olsen has announced a 20-man squad for the European Championship, with the final three berths set to be announced on 24th May.

The experienced boss has served up a couple of surprises, having called Evian midfielder Thomas Kahlenberg, who hasn’t featured for the national team for almost two years.

“He has played many games recently, and we have seen them all,” Olsen said. “He may not be a fast player, but he is a fast-thinking player, and he can be a good asset at the tournament.”

Premier League stars Daniel Agger, Thomas Sorensen and Nicklas Bendtner have been included, just like Ajax playmaker Christian Eriksen.

Together with the 20 players, Anders Lindegaard, Jannik Vestergaard and Nicklas Pedersen will also join Denmark’s training camp, but Olsen cannot confirm all three players will make the final 23-man squad.

“I am at least going to watch the games this coming weekend before I decide,” Olsen added.

Denmark play Brazil on 26th May and Australia on 2nd June in their final warm-up games before they face Netherlands seven days later in their opening Euro 2012 match.

The Danes will also face the likes of Germany and Portugal in Group B, which is why they are as much as 7.00 (6/1) with BetVictor to qualify for the quarter-finals.
