After Bernardo Silva’s late goal in the derby game against PSG ensured Monaco remained at the Ligue 1 summit, the Principality club now play host to second-placed Nice.

Les Aiglons have finally recovered from a slump in form and they head into the game at Stade Louis II hoping to prove they deserve to be fighting for the coveted trophy.

Many agree that Monaco are currently one of the most exciting sides in Europe as their brand of football has been highly entertaining to watch.

The mere fact that the Principality club have scored 23 goals more than holders PSG this season speaks volumes about their performances.

Monaco somehow managed to avoid defeat in what was probably the most important game of the season as Bernardo Silva scored excellent solo goal to make it 1-1, and no doubt that Leonardo Jardim’s side will be looking to build on that result.

The Principality club have been made 1.60 (3/5) favourites to claim maximum points, but defeating second-placed Nice will not be an easy task.

Leonardo Jardim will recall a host of first team regular after they were rested in midweek, and he should have fully fit squad to select from.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Subasic – Sidibe, Glik, Jemerson, Mendy – Bernardo Silva, Fabinho, Bakayoko, Lemar – Falcao, Germain.

Twenty two games into the new Ligue 1 campaign and the dream continues for Nice, who sit level on points with leaders Monaco and three points clear of holders PSG.

Les Aiglons have just gone through a very difficult period as three straight draws threatened to derail their title bid, but they did well to return to the right path.

The poor run also saw them crash out of both domestic Cup competitions, but that could easily prove a blessing in disguise as Nice only have one competition to worry about now as opposed to Monaco’s FOUR.

Lucien Favre rallied his troops last weekend and masterminded a 3-1 triumph over Guingamp, as his side took great advantage of the 1-1 draw at Parc des Princes.

Nice will be hoping to produce another quality performance when they face Monaco at Stade Louis II, but a five-match winless run on the road could be a cause for concern.

Key midfielder Younes Belhanda has resumed training after a six-week lay-off, but he is unlikely to start, whereas Yoan Cardinale and Wylan Cyprien are both expected to keep their places despite battling injury.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Cardinale – Souquet, Dante, Sarr, Dalbert – Koziello, Cyprien, Seri – Plea, Balotelli, Eysseric.
