Marseille vs NiceHaving finally recorded the first victory under Marcelo Bielsa, Marseille will be eager to continue the good run against Nice on Friday.

Les Aiglons ruined the bright start as they lost at home to Bordeaux, but this will be an opportunity to make amends for last weekend’s result.

Following several very difficult campaigns, Marseille chiefs were determined to turn things around, which is why they opted to appoint controversial but very successful coach Marcelo Bielsa.

While Mathieu Valbuena and Jordan Ayew left, several very good players joined the ranks, but the team were always going to need time to adapt to the Argentine’s ideas.

The 3-3 draw with Bastia and home defeat to Montpellier were hardly a perfect start to the new season, but Marseille were then finally rewarded for some very good performances.

OM produced another impressive display as they played Guingamp away, but this time that proved enough for a 1-0 triumph, courtesy of Andre-Pierre Gignac.

Marseille are now 1.50 (1/2) to defeat Nice, while the France international is 2.20 (6/5) to score anytime and add to his three goals this season.

The highly rated forward looks set to start after recovering from an ankle problem, meaning Marcelo Bielsa should have fully fit squad to choose from.

Probable starting line-up (3-4-3): Mandanda – N’Koulou, Romao, Morel – Dja Djedje, Payet, Imbula, Mendy – Thauvin, Gignac, Ayew.

After narrowly avoiding the drop last term, Nice stayed without some important players as well, seeing as how Pejcinovic, Ospina and Pied all left.

As a result, les Aiglons were tipped for another bottom table finish, with Ligue 1 survival remaining the number one objective.

Nice, however, impressed at the start of the new campaign, defeating Toulouse at home before holding Lorient to a goalless draw, but the good run was short-lived.

Despite taking the lead against Bordeaux, les Aiglons eventually had to settle for a 3-1 defeat and no doubt they face another difficult match against in-form Marseille.

New signing Alassane Plea could be in contention, but Bodmer, Cvitanich, Lloris and Delle are not yet ready to return into action.

Probable starting line-up (4-1-4-1): Hassen – Puel, Genevois, Gomis, Amavi – Mendy – Vercauteren, Eysseric, Hult, Bautheac – Bosetti.
