Marseille vs LyonHaving returned to winning ways with an impressive 6-1 triumph over Toulouse, Marseille will be looking to kick-start their title bid by defeating leaders Lyon.

Les Gones, too, recorded a big away win last time out, but they now face a much tougher task when facing their title rivals at Stade Velodrome.

Despite taking this Marseille side to unimagined heights, coach Marcelo Bielsa was heavily criticized after the recent four-match winless run that threatened to ruin team’s campaign.

It was the 2-3 home loss to Caen that was particularly disappointing as OM squandered a two-goal lead, and many believed the title bid was effectively over after that result.

But, Bielsa quickly rallied the troops and his charges produced a brilliant response, hammering Toulouse 6-1 on the road in the very next match.

Marseille now need to defeat Lyon as well if they want to stay in contention for the Ligue 1 trophy, with home win paying 2.10 (11/10).

Having done brilliantly to score four goals in last three matches after nailing down a regular starting berth, Michy Batshuayi can be backed at 3.00 (2/1) to score anytime.

Brice Dja Djedje and Rod Fanni are both banned for the Lyon clash, whist Nicolas N’Koulou misses out through a knee problem.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Mandanda – Lemina, Aloe, Morel, Mendy – Romao, Imbula – Ocampos, Payet, Ayew – Batshuayi.

While their next opponents have also exceeded expectation, Lyon have got to be considered the biggest surprise package of the season.

Club’s decision to focus on their own youth academy proved spot on as the likes of Lacazette, Fekir, Tolisso and Umtiti are already on the radar of Europe’s top clubs.

The fact that Lyon have produced so many quality players while recording some amazing results in the league is even more impressive, with les Gones sitting at Ligue 1 summit with just ten games to go.

Herbert Fournier’s side recovered well from the disappointing loss to Lille, scoring five past Montpellier last weekend, meaning they arrive at Stade Velodrome in excellent spirits.

Lyon now have a chance to all but eliminate their rivals from the title chase and they are available at 3.90 (29/10) to emerge victorious.

Yoann Gourcuff has picked up a muscle injury and is set to miss out, just like long-term casualties Clement Grenier and Milan Bisevac.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2 diamond): Lopes – Jallet, Rose, Umtiti, Bedimo – Tolisso, Gonalons, Ferri, Malbranque – Lacazette, Fekir.
