Wednesday evening’s game at Old Trafford sees Manchester United face Ipswich Town in the third round of the League Cup.

The Red Devils, who have won the competition four times, crashed out of the competition at the second round last season when MK Dons thrashed them 4-0 in one of the biggest shocks in the tournament’s history.

They go in to the game on the back of Sunday’s come-from-behind win over Southampton, though Louis van Gaal is expected to name a much changed side with Jesse Lingard, Andreas Perrera, James Wilson and fit again Phil Jones looking to be involved while defensive trio Luke Shaw, Paddy McNair and Marcos Rojo are all injured.

Anthony Martial, who has three goals in three games since signing from Monaco, is 4.75 (15/4) to get the first goal of the game with Bet 365, while Wayne Rooney can be backed at the same price with the same firm.

Betfred have the home win at 1.3 (3/10), with the visitors as highly priced as the 13.0 (12/1) on offer from Stan James. The draw is 6.5 (11/2) with Bet 365.

Mick McCarthy’s side needed extra-time to get past League One Doncaster Rovers in round two with goals from David McGoldrick, James Alabi and Ryan Fraser eventually sending them through.

Fraser and fellow midfielder Kevin Bru are expected to be fit enough to be feature, while goalkeeper Dean Gerkin will be assessed ahead of the game.

Both Daryl Murphy, who is yet to score this season, and McGoldrick are priced at 17.0 (16/1) to open the scoring with Bet 365.

The two sides last met over thirteen years ago, with Ruud van Nistelrooy getting the only goal of the game from the penalty spot at Portman Road.

In fact, each of United’s last four victories over the Tractor Boys have come without them conceding, so you may be tempted to win a home win to nil this time around at 2.1 (11/10) with Paddy Power while they be backed at 1.8 (4/5) with Coral to score three or more goals.
