The Merseyside rivals are set to meet at Wembley as they battle for a place in the FA Cup final and both sides go into this game in confident mood.

Liverpool have just arrested the poor run of results with a win at Ewood Park, while Everton continued the rich vein of form by recording a 4-0 victory over Sunderland.

The Reds have utterly failed to prove their worth in the Premier League and the fact they currently sit one point behind the Toffees is something their fans cannot forgive them for.

The Carling Cup triumph was, however,  seen as a step in the right direction and another major trophy could turn this season into a success after all.

The hard-fought victory over Blackburn served as a major confidence boost before what could be the game of the season for the Reds, and you should know Liverpool are 2.60 (8/5) with 888sport to win in regular time.

Pepe Reina and Cristiano Doni miss out through suspension, while Charlie Adam and Lucas Leiva are out injured.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Jones – Carragher, Skrtel, Agger, Jose Enrique – Henderson, Gerrard, Spearing, Downing – Carroll, Suarez.

Everton did well to kick-start their season after the slow start and the Toffees have been showing a lot of improvement in the second part of the season.

The run of 9 wins in 15 games not only saw David Moyes’ side climb to 7th in Premier League standings, but also helped them reach the FA Cup semi-finals.

After quite a while, the Toffees have earned a chance to fight for a major trophy and the fact that Liverpool stand in their way will only give the players an extra motivation.

Seeing that Everton won four of their last five games in all competitions, odds of 2.15 (23/20) offered by Stan James on the Blues to qualify do look tempting.

Jack Rodwell continues to miss out through injury, whereas Steven Pienaar is cup-tied having already played for Tottenham in the competition.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-1-1): Howard – Hibbert, Jagielka, Distin, Baines – Osman, Fellaini, Gibson, Drenthe – Cahill – Jelavic.
