Tuesday evening’s EFL Cup action from the King Power Stadium sees Leicester City take on Liverpool.

The two sides have won the trophy a combined eleven times with the Merseysiders lifting the trophy a record eight times to the East Midlanders’ three.

The Foxes thumped Sheffield United by four goals to one in the second round but haven’t won since, taking just one point from the last nine available in the league.

Top scorer Jamie Vardy is likely to miss out after picking up a groin problem in the 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town while Christian Fuchs, Robert Huth and Matty James are all sidelined.

Kelechi Iheanacho could start for just the second time since signing from Manchester City, and is priced at 7.5 (13/2) to open the scoring while Islam Slimani is an 8.5 (15/2) shot with Bet 365.

The home win inside ninety minutes can be backed at 3.9 (29/10) with a variety of firms with the away win 1.98 (39/40) with Unibet. Befair have the draw priced at 4.0 (3/1).

The Reds enter the competition at the stage having qualified for Europe and made the semi-finals last season only to be beaten by eventual runners-up Southampton.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set for his first start having came on as a substitute in the last three games while third choice goalkeeper Danny Ward is set to play along with Marko Grujic, Domonic Solanke and Jon Flanagan.

Daniel Sturridge is favourite to get the first goal of the game at 5.5 (9/2) with Bet 365 while Ben Woodburn can be backed at 9.5 (17/2) with Unibet.

Both of last season’s meetings between the sides saw four or more goals with Leicester winning 3-1 at home in February after Liverpool had gone one better at Anfield five months earlier.

They also faced each other preseason with Jurgen Klopp’s side winning 2-1 in the Asia Trophy and you can back both teams to score this time around at 1.62 (8/13) with Sporting Bet.

Alternatively you might want to take advantage of Unibet’s offer of 2.7 (17/10) for there to be over 3.5 goals in the game.
