Kamil Glik joins Monaco

Kamil GlikPolish defender Kamil Glik has completed a move to Ligue 1 side Monaco, the French club announced on their official website.

The highly rated footballer was looking to leave Granata for a bigger club and he ultimately opted for the French giants despite being on the radar of quite a few top Italian sides.

Glik signed a four-year deal with Monaco and while the transfer fee was not disclosed, reports suggest Torino will receive around €8 million.

“I am very proud and happy to have signed for Monaco,” Glik said at the official unveiling.

“Monaco are a big club in France and allow me to take the next step in my career.

“I am going to give my all to help this club reach its objectives. It is a very exciting new challenge and I cannot wait to get started here.”

Monaco had previously recruited Benjamin Mendy from Marseille and Youssef Ait Bennasser from Nancy, while Radamel Falcao returned from a loan spell.

The Principality club will be looking to mount a serious title challenge in Ligue 1 and they can be backed at 21.00 (20/1) to go all the way.
