Hertha vs StuttgartHertha will have a lot to prove on Friday evening after they suffered an embarrassing 5-0 defeat to top 4 rivals Borussia M’gladbach last time out.

Hannover, on the other hand, will soon lose all chances to avoid the drop and they head to Olympiastadion very low on spirits.

With just six games to go, we can safely say that Hertha Berlin have been the biggest surprise package of the current campaign, as they defied the odds to climb to third in the league standings.

Pal Dardai’s men cannot afford to relax just yet as the likes of Gladbach, Leverkusen, Mainz and Schalke are all breathing down their necks, meaning they can miss out on a European qualification altogether in case for a poor finish to the season.

Hertha suffered a major blow to their top 3 hopes as they recorded a 5-0 loss to Borussia M’gladbach, but they remain three points clear of their rivals for the automatic Champions League berth.

And with games against Bayern Munich and Leverkusen coming up, Pal Dardai’s charges need to try and beat Hannover and Hoffenheim if they want to keep the high league position.

Hertha can be backed at 1.55 (5/9) to see off the Bundesliga rock bottom side and thus make it four home wins in a row.

The likes of John Brooks, Sami Allagui and Sinan Kurt continue to miss out, whereas Per-Ciljan Skjelbred is doubtful with a bruised foot.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Jarstein – Weiser, Langkamp, Stark, Plattenhardt – Lustenberger, Skjelbred – Haraguchi, Darida, Kalou – Ibisevic.

Not so long ago, Hannover were playing Europa League football and doing really well in German Bundesliga, but they are now set to be relegated.

The 96ers have been utterly disappointing this season, slipping to the relegation zone early on and they never managed to climb out of the bottom three.

Hannover only managed to win one game after the winter break, defeating Stuttgart on the road, but that result meant nothing as they quickly returned to being the cannon fodder for other Bundesliga sides.

The 96ers have lost 10 off 11 league fixtures in the new year so it is hardly surprising that they sit huge 11 points adrift of safety with six games to go.

New coach Daniel Stendel faces serious selection problems considering that the likes of Felipe, Leon Andreasen, Hotaru Yamaguchi and Charlison Benschop are all out injured.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Zieler – H. Sakai, Milosevic, Schulz, Sorg – Schmiedebach, Hoffmann – Karaman, Kiyotake, Bech – Sobiech.
