Brazilian midfielder Felipe Melo has confirmed that he is leaving Juventus this summer.

The 28-year-old midfielder has revealed that he is finalizing his move to a European club.

“I’ve received an offer from Europe that will vastly improve my salary,” Melo told Brazilian media.

“We’re finalising the details and over the next few days everything out to be completed.

“I was not cut from the Juventus squad. Quite simply, in agreement with the directors, we decided it was inconvenient that I should only play in Serie A, considering my salary and the contract that runs to 2014.”

Melo is no longer part of Antonio Conte’s plans and Juventus are eager to cash in on him so as to make room for new signings.

The holding midfielder was recently linked with a return to Brazil and a move to Sao Paulo, but it appears that he has changed his mind and would now rather stay in Europe.

“I had got to the point of choosing the area I’d live in and I know they’d have treated me with a great deal of affection.

“However, I was very annoyed that people I didn’t even know started commenting on a supposed move to Palmeiras. Flamengo were never interested in me, while Santos and Gremio only ever enquired.”

Having already brought the likes of Pirlo, Lichtsteiner, Ziegler, Pazienza and Matri, and with several big name signings on the horizon, Juventus look ready to enter the title race next season, with the Bodog paying 8.00 (7/1) on Juve to win the scudetto.
