Germany vs IrelandFollowing the 2-0 loss in Poland, Germany will be under pressure when they host improving Republic of Ireland side at Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen.

The Irish had an easy job against Gibraltar at the weekend, which should give them an extra edge over their more illustrious opponents.

The World Cup winners probably did not expect to face a difficult task in the Euro 2016 qualifiers, but they have so far failed to impress.

With three important players retiring from international duty and few more star footballers missing through injury, there have been a lack of experience in the ranks, which appears to be the biggest problem at the moment.

Germany needed to work really hard to defeat Scotland at home, but they could do little to avoid a 2-0 loss in Poland, despite outplaying their opponents.

Joachim Low, however, does not think his side will have any problems in reaching the tournament finals and they are 1.30 (3/10) to defeat Ireland on Tuesday.

Having largely impressed on his debut, Karim Bellarabi is expected to keep his place in the side, while Julian Draxler is also pushing for a start.

But, with not too many quality options on the bench, Joachim Low is highly unlikely to make wholesale changes to the starting XI.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Neuer – Rudy, Boateng, Hummels, Durm – Kramer, Kroos – Bellarabi, Gotze, Schurrle – Muller.

In spite of the somewhat easy fixture list, Republic of Ireland players will be delighted to have started the Euro 2016 qualifiers with back to back victories.

The Irish needed a moment of brilliance from Aiden McGeady to avoid a potential banana skin in Georgia, before hammering weak Gibraltar 7-0 on Saturday.

Veteran striker Robbie Keane scored a hat-trick to prove he can still play at a very high level and he can be backed at 5.50 (9/2) to get on the scoresheet against Germany.

And with their opponents severely weakened and in poor spirits after the Poland defeat, Ireland are available at 4.00 (3/1) not to lose at Veltins Arena.

Glenn Whelan and Stephen Quinn should be recalled, but Richard Keogh is out injured and Daryl Murphy is doubtful.

Important players Seamus Coleman and James McCarthy had missed out on the squad through injury and no doubt they will be sorely missed.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-2-1): Forde – Meyler, O’Shea, Wilson, Ward – Whelan, Gibson, Quinn – McGeady, Hoolahan – Keane.
