Harry Kane EnglandAfter impressing in final warm-up games, it’s time for England to prove their worth in their opening Euro 2016 match against Russia.

Leonid Slutsky’s side have lost quite a few star players through injury, but they will still be eager to impress when facing the Three Lions.

Having failed to meet the expectations so many times, England are determined to succeed at the Euro 2016 and no doubts they will enjoy great support from the stands.

For the first time in quite a while, the fans are really excited about the team’s potential, and rightly so, with Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy, Dele Alli and others heading to the tournament after a very successful Premier League season.

Even with Roy Hodgson experimenting with his starting line-up and formation, England did well to win five of last six warm-up games, thus keeping the atmosphere in the squad at a high level.

The Three Lions now stand a good chance of seeing off injury-hit Russia and they can be backed at 1.95 (19/20) to start the campaign with a win.

Jordan Henderson, Jack Wilshere and Daniel Sturridge are unlikely to start as they lack match fitness, while Wayne Rooney is expected to play in midfield.

According to reports, Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy will start up front as Hodgson looks set to stay true to his 4-4-2 diamond formation.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Hart – Clyne, Smalling, Cahill, Rose – Dier, Rooney, Milner, Alli – Kane, Vardy.

Leonid Slutsky has saved Russia from the embarrassment of missing out on Euro 2016, but he now needs to ensure the team perform at the tournament finals as well.

Judging by their last four wins in the qualifying campaign and excellent performances in those matches, we thought Sbornaya Komanda could go far, but a lot has changed since.

Russia have lost both starting central midfielders through injury as Alan Dzagoev and Igor Denisov are now out of contention, and that is going to be a problem.

On top of that, full-backs Yuri Zhirkov and Oleg Kuzmin are out as well, with Artur Yusupov and Dmitri Torbinski drafted into the squad.

CSKA Moscow youngster Aleksandr Golovin is almost certain to start as one of two central midfielders, while Pavel Mamaev and Oleg Ivanov are vying for the second position.

However, it is the attacking diamond of Shatov, Kokorin, Smolov and Dzyuba that should be the main driving force, and no doubts that England defence will find it hard to contain them.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Akinfeev – Smolnikov, Ignashevich. V. Berezutski, Schennikov – Golovin, Mamaev – Kokorin, Shatov, Smolov – Dzyuba.
