Both Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia M’gladbach are involved in the incredibly interesting top 4 race in German Bundesliga, meaning their clash on Friday could prove very interesting.

Die Adler head into the clash on the back of an important away win over Wolfsburg, whereas die Fohlen defeated Augsburg at home last time out.

Having finished the previous campaign mere five points above the relegation zone, Eintracht were looking to show some improvement in the new season, but they probably couldn’t imagine such a strong start.

Nineteen games into the new league championship and die Adler sit just one point behind second-placed Bayer Leverkusen, albeit in 7th place.

Niko Kovac’s men have done really well to be in a position to fight for Champions League positions, but it is clear they will not have an easy task.

Nevertheless, Eintracht are going strong at the moment, although they are surprisingly doing better on the road than on home soil.

While winning last four away matches in all competitions, die Adler are winless in last four at home, and this will feel as a good opportunity to improve the dismal home form.

Defender Marco Russ could be back in contention, but David Abraham, Jonathan De Guzman and Alex Meier remain sidelined.

Probable starting line-up (3-1-4-2): Hradecky – Salcedo, Hasebe, Falette – Mascarell – Wolf, Boateng, Gacinovic, Chandler – Haller, Rebic.

Borussia M’gladbach have already been in Eintracht’s position, having narrowly escaped relegation only to establish themselves as Champions League contenders shortly afterwards.

Die Fohlen have been doing really well over the last few years and they have again mounted a serious top 4 challenge.

Borussia currently sit level on points with Bayer Leverkusen, Schalke and RB Leipzig, while Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt are just a point behind.

Die Fohlen recovered well from back to back defeats to Bayer Leverkusen (DFB Pokal) and FC Koln (Bundesliga), with a 2-0 triumph over Augsburg helping the player restore some of the lost confidence.

The visitors will have Christoph Kramer back to the side after recovering from an infection, but Bobadilla, Traore, Strobl, Johnson and Doucoure remain in the infirmary.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-2-2): Sommer – Elvedi, Ginter, Vestergaard, Wendt – Kramer, Zakaria – Herrmann, Hazard – Raffael, Stindl.
