Mexico vs BosniaManchester City striker Edin Dzeko is set to miss Bosnia’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Israel through injury, the Dragons’ medical team has revealed.

The 28-year-old suffered a calf injury in weekend’s clash with QPR shortly after coming on as a second-half substitute but Bosnia boss Safet Susic was hoping to have him available for important game against Israel.

However, team doctor Reuf Karabeg has revealed the injury is more serious than first feared, with Dzeko set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

“It’s a very serious injury and requires the kind of treatment whose time-frame rules out a quick return,” Karabeg told the Bosnian FA website.

Edin Dzeko has been a key player for the national team over the years, scoring 37 goals in 67 appearances for the Dragons.

Bosnia had a pretty poor start to the Euro 2016 qualifiers, taking mere two points from first three fixtures and they are 2.62 (13/8) to end the barren run in Israel.
