Spain vs NetherlandsSpain coach Vicente Del Bosque was full of praise for his back-up players as second-string La Furia Roja enjoyed a 1-0 triumph over Ukraine in the final Euro 2016 qualifier.

With the team securing a place at the tournament finals in the penultimate match of the campaign, the experienced tactician made wholesale changes for the clash in Kiev, handing debuts to Mario Gaspar and Xabier Etxeita.

The Villarreal full-back went on to score the only goal of the game, while the likes of Nolito, Thiago and Etxeita all impressed in the process.

Del Bosque admits that choosing the 23 players to take to France will be no easy task after last night’s performances.

“All of them played well,” Del Bosque told reporters. “It is good to look at other players and ensure that they can help us.

“It will be a problem to choose just 23 players for Euro 2016, but there’s still a long way to go until then.

“We have solutions and that offers plenty of encouragement, because we have to see the options ahead of the Euros.”

Spain will head to Euro 2016 as the reigning European champions and they can be backed at 7.50 (13/2) to defend the coveted title.
