Chile proved their worth by winning Group C, leaving Uruguay, Peru and Mexico trailing in their wake, whereas Venezuela produced quite a few surprises to finish tied on points with Group B winners Brazil.

Chile enter this match as favourites following very good showings in group stage that saw them pick up 7 out of 9 possible points.

La Roja were through to the quarter-finals after the second round draw with Uruguay, but they still managed to beat fierce rivals Peru in their final group game and finish top of their group.
